Job summary

Leica Geosystems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for On-Machine Software in Odense, Denmark or Stockholm, Sweden. You will develop software enabling construction machines to operate with precision and autonomy, collaborating across software, hardware, and product teams.

The role focuses on kinematics, control systems, sensor integration, and advanced software practices, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and influence architecture and design decisions.

Qualifications

Degree in Software Engineering, Robotics, Control Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Fluent English in technical contexts is expected.
Strong C++ development skills and experience on Linux-based platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software for machine control and automation systems.
Contribute to architecture decisions and system design.
Own key software components and drive improvements.
Collaborate across software, hardware, and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Develop machine guidance, automation, and control functionality.
Participate in technical reviews and mentoring of colleagues.
Work with sensor integration, positioning technologies, and control algorithms.
Contribute to technical investigations and innovation initiatives.
