Job summary

Veo Technologies in Copenhagen is seeking a senior backend engineer to scale our Revenue Platform. You will own critical backend services in Rust, integrating billing, payments and ERP systems while collaborating with cross-functional partners across the business.

You bring 5+ years of backend experience (Rust/Python), strong API design skills, and a product-minded approach. Fluency in English is required, and you’ll work from our Copenhagen office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer with strong backend experience.
• Backend experience using Python or Rust in production.
• Experience with revenue-critical domains is a plus.
• Strong API design and third-party integration skills.
• Experience building distributed systems with correctness under failure.
• Ability to make architectural decisions while keeping a live system running.
• Collaborates with product, finance, data and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Evolve and scale backend services in Rust that process revenue: orders, subscriptions, invoicing, payments, provisioning.
• Strengthen Temporal workflows with versioning and replay for reliability.
• Shape the Revenue Platform API into an OpenAPI-first product for internal teams.
• Improve integrations with billing, payment, CRM, ERP and logistics providers and handle failure modes.
• Translate pricing changes and new markets into correct business logic.
• Own production: observability, alerting, incident response, and data migrations affecting thousands of accounts.
• Incorporate modern AI development tools into the workflow for faster iteration.
• Set technical direction via design reviews, code reviews and testing.
