Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Operations Specialist with solid experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of Nokia network equipment (routers & switches) as well as optical DWDM infrastructure. In this role, you will be a central player in our 2nd-line Captive team, responsible for ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure for our customer.
A valid security clearance is a prerequisite for this position.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of Nokia routers (7210, 7705, 7050) via NFM-P and DWDM systems (Ribbon) via NMS Lightsoft
- Carry out 2nd/3rd-level troubleshooting on both IP and transport layers (BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, LSP protection) and coordinate with vendors—Nokia, Ribbon—and other operators for swift resolution
- Plan and execute routine maintenance tasks (software upgrades, firmware patches, configuration changes, etc.)
- Participate in scheduled service windows (night/weekend) and ensure minimal service disruption
- Produce risk analyses when required
- Use performance data to identify bottlenecks (latency, jitter, packet loss) and adjust QoS policies, TE parameters, and DWDM optimization settings (power level, dispersion compensation)
- Maintain documentation, guides, and network diagrams, and contribute to the preparation of monthly operational reports and other reporting artefacts
- Operate according to ITIL processes within the ITSM system ServiceNow
- Participate in the on-call rotation, including the standby team for critical network incidents
Your Qualifications
Hard Skills
- Hands-on experience operating Nokia routers/switches in large transport or service networks
- Experience with DWDM systems—preferably Ribbon, though not mandatory (training and courses provided)
- Proficiency with Nokia CLI
- Solid knowledge of protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, L2VPN/L3VPN, Segment Routing
- Experience with management tools such as Nokia NFM-P and similar platforms
- Certified as a Nokia Network Routing Specialist / Service Router (or equivalent)
- ITIL certification or demonstrable experience in an ITIL-based environment
- Cisco certifications (CCNP/CCIE) are a bonus
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation

- Strong technical background and genuine passion for network operations
- Highly analytical mindset and a structured way of working
- Ability to work under time pressure during critical fault-resolution situations, collaborating effectively with other engineers and management
- Good communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, timely information both in the ITSM tool and to the Incident Manager and NOC team during major incidents
- Fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken
