Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering activities on a construction project, coordinating the technical design with on-site installation through to commissioning, ensuring quality, safety and schedule compliance. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, manage design documentation, QA processes, and liaise with clients and subcontractors.

A 5+ year track record with mechanical contracting is preferred; roles are based across Europe with growth

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or Senior Trades qualification or equivalent.
• Significant Project engineering experience of 5 years+ with a mechanical contractor.
• Previous record of delivering small to medium mechanical projects (Commercial, Industrial, pharma, data centre type projects).
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures.
• The ability to multi-task and manage many priorities.
• Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills.
• Leads and influences others.
• Mentor and coach to junior engineers and graduates.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design with on-site installation through to commissioning.
• Attend project handover meetings and review design specifications.
• Prepare and review technical submittals and drawings (P&IDs, layouts).
• Liaise with design team, contractors and in-house project team on technical issues.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
• Organise and assess the work of sub-contractors.
• Carry out quality control inspections and snagging.
