Job summary

Northern Partners AB seeks an experienced Senior Design Manager - Mechanical to lead the mechanical and plumbing design delivery for data center EPC projects.

This role sits within the Design Engineering function and is responsible for directing and quality-controlling the work of external engineering consultants, ensuring designs are delivered on time, to budget and in line with technical, safety and operational standards for mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading mechanical & plumbing design on large projects.
• Strong ability to manage external consultants and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead external mechanical and plumbing consultants from concept through IFC and as-built documentation.
• Provide senior technical oversight of HVAC and plumbing systems for data centers.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural and controls disciplines to deliver coordinated designs.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute), and client criteria.
• Support resiliency targets and project milestones with clear risk management.
