Job summary

Bavarian Nordic in Kvistgård seeks a Materials Science Manager to lead the Materials Science function within Site MSAT. You will oversee material stewardship across raw materials, in-process materials, single- and multi-use systems, and primary packaging, driving governance and risk management.

You will manage a team of five specialists, collaborate with QA, QC, Manufacturing and external suppliers, and shape the operating model with scientific leadership, ensuring decision-ready recommendations

Qualifications

• Master's degree in materials science, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, chemical engineering or related field.
• Substantial experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing with direct technical responsibility for materials.
• Proven leadership of technical specialists or scientists and capability development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of five technical specialists and scientists.
• Oversee material stewardship for raw, in-process, and packaging materials across lifecycle.
• Drive governance, specifications, supplier assessments and changes with cross-functional alignment.
