Maersk, based at our Copenhagen headquarters, seeks a Senior Marine Electrical Engineer to drive electrical and automation scope across major vessel projects for a global fleet. You will lead design reviews, coordinate with shipyards and regulators, and ensure safety and compliance.
You will contribute to newbuilds, retrofits and technology initiatives, traveling internationally ~20–40 days per year while driving continuous improvement in vessel design and operational performance.

Based at our headquarters in the heart of Copenhagen, you'll contribute to the technologies that power one of the world's largest container fleets and support the future of safe, efficient, and sustainable shipping.
As our next Senior Marine Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering major vessel projects across Maersk's global fleet, including newbuildings, retrofits, upgrades, and technology development initiatives. Acting as a technical authority within your area of expertise, you'll help ensure solutions are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with Maersk standards while driving innovation and continuous improvement across vessel design and operational performance.
We expect our next team member to bring a strong technical foundation, combined with the confidence to challenge shipyards, suppliers, and designers while maintaining constructive relationships and project momentum. A combination of sound engineering judgement, commercial awareness, and a structured approach to problem solving will be key to navigating complex technical challenges. An understanding of the full vessel lifecycle enables balanced decision-making across safety, performance, operability, maintainability, and cost considerations. The role also requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders through clear communication and a pragmatic approach to delivery.
