Maersk seeks a Senior Naval Architect at its Copenhagen headquarters to support a fleet of 300+ container vessels. You will contribute to decarbonisation, guide vessel design from concept to execution, and engage with yards, consultants, and classification societies to uphold high standards.

As our next Senior Naval Architect,you’llplay a key role in supporting Maersk’s global fleet of 300+ container vessels.You’llcontribute directly to ourdecarbonisationjourneyand help set future standards for efficient, compliant, and innovative vessel design.
You’lljoin Fleet Technology, working alongside highly skilledproject managers andengineers across multiple disciplines in a truly global environment.Inthis roleyou get the opportunitytocontributeacross thefull vessel lifecycle - from concept design and major conversions to innovation initiatives and vessel recycling.
Continuously improve the design and performance of Maersk’s container vessel fleet
Lead and deliver engineering projects on time, within scope, and to high technical standards
Act as technical authority andsubject matter expert for yourarea of expertise.
Lead technical evaluations and design reviews with shipyards, consultants, classification societies, and equipment makers.
Provide sound technical input and engineering recommendations to supportdecision‑making
Contribute to bothlong‑termstrategic initiatives andfast‑pacedtechnical projects
Collaborate closely with engineers, site offices, shipyards, and external partners
Promote a proactive culture with flat team structures and shared ownership
We expect our next team member to bring :
A degree in Naval Architecture andminimum 5 years of relevant experience in ship design, maritime research, or a closely related field
Exposure to vessel design, including areas such as statutory compliance, structural design, or stability
A solid technical foundation, with experience contributing to engineering projects from concept through execution
Experience with ship newbuilding or major conversion projects either from ship owner,designeror classification society angle, including activities such asdevelopmentsof technical specificationsorplan approval.
A collaborative, proactivemindsetand interest in working within a global,cross‑functionalorganisation
The ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
It’san advantage if you also have :
Knowledge ofcontainervessel’slashing systems, outfitting, hullstructureand/or accommodation design.
Practical experience insupporting, mentoring, or coordinating the work of other engineers
