Job description

Software Engineer (Mid / Senior / Lead) – OTC Product Area, Fintech Solutions Location: Denmark

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

We are looking for Software Engineers at mid, senior, or lead level to join our engineering team that builds fintech solutions for managing OTC (Over-The-Counter) financial instruments within our asset management platform, SimCorp Dimension and SimCorp One. Our work delivers value in two major areas. First, we implement new features that drive the business forward and shape the future of our platform. Second, we focus on extending and maintaining our established solutions to ensure our clients’ operations remain uninterrupted and always available.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Designing, building, and extending existing solutions and APIs for our OTC asset management product, delivering value to customers incrementally.
  • Working primarily in C#. Our codebase also includes OCaml and APL therefore prior experience with these languages is a strong plus.
  • Understanding, refactoring and modernizing our legacy codebase without disrupting the business it supports.
  • Focusing on the systems as a whole and being able address fundamental changes that improves the quality, performance and user experience.
  • Collaborating closely with your product owner to refine requirements, clarify business needs, and shape how features get built.
  • Working as part of a team of skilled engineers — pairing, reviewing code, and sharing ownership of the solution with fellow engineers.
  • Following good engineering practice: clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Building, extending and consuming REST APIs.
  • Communicating clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Continuously learning — and helping the team and product grow with you.
WHAT WE VALUE
  • Interest in creating innovative features for a complex platform, working on areas such as API scalability, automation, performance, and operational resilience - having space to explore, design and influence the final solution.
  • Solid C# skills. This is the core language for the role; your level of seniority will determine how much ownership and architectural input you're expected to bring.
  • Experience with, or genuine interest in, functional programming.
  • Familiarity with OCaml, APL, F#, Standard ML, Scala or Haskell is a real advantage but not required — a willingness to learn is what matters most.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in refactoring existing code and working with legacy systems.
  • For senior/lead candidates: a track record of contributing to architectural decisions on scalable backend systems.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • A relevant degree (Computer Science or STEM) with demonstrated hands‑on experience in software engineering.
  • FurtherMORE, WE VALUE THAT YOU ARE motivated to work within the financial domain, comfortable working closely with a cross‑functional team, willing to learn and pick up new languages and paradigms as needed, able to identify tech debt and help drive incremental improvement, a collaborative person willing to share knowledge and learn from your team members.
OUR TEAM AND WAYS OF WORKING

We deliver solution for large scale financial institutions with billions of dollars in managed assets. Therefore, our work impacts everyday of our customers operations. You will work in a small team of highly skilled engineers on whole SDLC process – from understanding customers' needs, through solutioning and design to coding, testing and maintaining our software. Our hybrid model of working includes two days (minimum) in our Copenhagen office and up to three days working remotely. Codebase includes a mix of C#, OCaml and APL which gives broad opportunities to upskill and drive your career with us. We invest a lot in your understanding of both the technical details of the solution and financial knowledge that will allow you to contribute to building the future of asset management.

BENEFITS
  • Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and pension are essential for any work agreement.
  • However, at SimCorp, we believe we can offer more. Therefore, in addition to the traditional benefit scheme, we provide an excellent work‑life balance: flexible work hours, a hybrid workplace model.
  • On top of that, we have IP innovation sprints, where you have dedicated time per quarter to spend on mastering your skills as well as contributing to the company development.
  • There is never just one route — we practice an individual approach to professional development to support the direction you want to take.
