Job description

Imagine a future where your accounting expertise helps shape strategic investment decisions in the green energy transition

Join us in this role where you’ll act as the accounting lead on some of the world’s largest and most complex renewable energy transactions. Your IFRS expertise will help shape transaction structures and inform key investment decisions. You’ll assess the accounting implications of complex M&A transactions, advise on proposed structures, and translate your conclusions into clear insights that support commercial decisions.

Welcome to IC Projects & IFRS

You’ll be part of IC Projects & IFRS where you will act as the accounting lead on M&A transactions including acquisitions, divestments, farm-downs, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. You’ll join a highly specialised team of eight accounting professionals and work closely with our Partnerships and M&A organisation, external advisers, auditors, and a team of around 40 M&A professionals who originate and execute transactions across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. In this role, you’ll support complex international transactions and help ensure high-quality accounting decisions across the Group.

As a team, we share knowledge, explore complex accounting questions together, and support one another in delivering high-quality advice. We value different perspectives, open dialogue, flexibility, and a healthy work-life balance.

You’ll play an important role in:
  • acting as the IFRS accounting lead on acquisitions, divestments, farm-downs, joint ventures, structured financing arrangements, and strategic partnerships
  • assessing accounting implications early in the transaction process and advising on proposed deal and investment structures
  • preparing clear IFRS accounting assessments and technical memos that support commercial and management decisions
  • reviewing draft contracts, term sheets, bid materials, and other transaction documentation from an accounting perspective
  • participating in meetings with investors, external advisers, auditors, and internal stakeholders on transaction-related accounting matters
  • contributing to wider Group Finance activities, including financial reporting, accounting policy development, and strategic accounting projects.
To succeed in the role, you:
  • bring deep IFRS expertise gained through technical accounting, IFRS advisory or a similar specialist environment
  • have experience advising on the IFRS implications of M&A transactions within a listed company, international group, professional services firm, or a comparable organisation
  • can translate complex accounting matters into clear, practical conclusions for management, commercial colleagues, and other non-accounting stakeholders
  • build strong working relationships and communicate confidently across finance, Partnerships & M&A, management, external advisers, and auditors
  • approach complex assignments analytically and systematically, take ownership of your work, and remain adaptable to changing transaction priorities
  • hold a master’s degree in accounting, auditing, or a related discipline.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
