Job summary

MFT Energy is seeking a Senior Financial Controller in Aarhus to drive financial excellence across a global trading group. You will own core financial processes, work with stakeholders worldwide, and contribute to strategic and operational financial improvements.

With a Master’s in Finance or Accounting and 5+ years in audit or financial control, you will navigate IFRS, Danish GAAP, and tax frameworks while leveraging Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Auditor and/or Financial Controller, ideally in an international group.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and relevant tax frameworks.
• Strong skills in Excel and ERP systems, ideally Business Central.
• Familiar with consolidation and BI tools, as well as AI.
• Independent, ownership-driven, and deadline-focused.
• Analytical, structured problem solver with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Own financial controlling and reporting across the group.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and its international structure.
• Contribute to the continuous development of the financial setup and processes.
• Support tax, transfer pricing, shareholder transactions, cost controlling, and procurement.
• Participate in monthly and annual closings with external partners.
• Act as a financial partner for a designated business area and provide insights.

Then you might be our new Senior Financial Controller. We are looking for an experienced profile ready to take ownership and drive financial excellence in a fast-growing global trading company.

The job as Senior Financial Controller

You will join our Finance, Risk, and Treasury team and play a key role in ensuring high-quality financial controlling and reporting across the group. From day one, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, taking ownership of core financial processes while contributing to the continuous development of our financial setup. The role offers both responsibility and variety, with exposure to strategic projects and operational tasks.

You Can Look Forward To

• Acting as a subject‑matter expert on IFRS, Danish GAAP, and audit‑related topics
• Playing a central role in the audit process and maintaining close collaboration with group and local auditors
• Contributing to reliable and timely financial reporting and delivering high-quality insights
• Supporting and developing the Group valuation model and Partner Program
• Driving and contributing to cross‑functional projects and ad hoc analyses
• Collaborating with accounting teams to ensure efficient, well‑documented processes and controls
• Participating in monthly and annual closings in collaboration with external partners
• Supporting areas such as tax, transfer pricing, shareholder transactions, cost controlling, and procurement
• Acting as a financial partner for a designated business area, providing insights and guidance

What we are looking for

• You hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field
• You bring +5 years of experience as an Auditor and/or Financial Controller, ideally in an international group structure
• You have a solid understanding of IFRS and relevant tax frameworks
• You have strong skills in Excel and ERP systems, ideally Business Central
• You are familiar with consolidation and BI tools, as well as AI
• You work independently, take ownership, and consistently meet deadlines
• You think analytically and approach complex problems in a structured way
• You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams and cultures
• You are curious, proactive, and motivated to improve processes and challenge the status quo
• You thrive in a scale‑up environment where systems and processes are continuously evolving
