Job summary

Hitachi Rail Denmark A/S in Copenhagen seeks an Engineering Manager (PDA) to lead governance, engineering integration, and design maturity for railway solutions. You will chair design reviews, manage interfaces, and ensure safety, RAM, cybersecurity, EMC, and lifecycle requirements are embedded in outputs.

Lead diverse technical teams, guide suppliers, and influence programme reviews and acceptance strategies. 7+ years in complex rail projects and CENELEC familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leadership in rail systems or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong systems engineering, design assurance, interface, and lifecycle acceptance knowledge.
• Lead diverse technical teams and supplier engineering organisations.
• More than 7 years on complex rail/systems projects; CENELEC familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Define the engineering management approach, design governance, review cadence, and maturity criteria.
• Lead technical coordination across Solution Engineering, Interface & Integration, Requirements, Installation Design and WPD Leaders.
• Ensure safety, RAM, cybersecurity, EMC, human factors, O&M, installation and IVVQ/T&C requirements are embedded in outputs.
• Resolve technical conflicts and ensure supplier designs are reviewed and accepted through controlled processes.
• Provide engineering input to programme reviews, gates, change impact assessments and acceptance strategy.
• Chair design reviews, escalate risks, and authorize engineering deliverables within delegated competence.
• Escalate major deviations or maturity gaps and guide design hold or change control as needed.
• Provide technical leadership to transform contractual requirements into an integrated railway solution.
