Job summary

JBT Marel is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Aarhus to design and implement embedded software for advanced food processing equipment. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers across the full product lifecycle, emphasizing reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

The role requires strong modern C++ experience on Linux-based embedded platforms, with end-to-end ownership and active collaboration in a Scrum-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or similar.
• Strong experience with modern C++ in embedded/industrial software.
• Solid background in Linux-based embedded platforms and cross-compilation.
• Experience developing software close to hardware, devices or machines.
• Understanding of real-time or deterministic behavior in production systems.
• Structured and analytical, with clear design of reliable systems.
• Senior technical contributor in Scrum teams with mentoring experience.
• Strong communication in an international environment (English required).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded and industrial software primarily in modern C++.
• Develop software close to hardware, machines, and devices for performance and reliability.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from idea to deployment and maintenance.
• Contribute to system-level thinking and software architecture decisions.
• Drive technical direction and best practices within the team.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, stability, and long lifecycle requirements.
• Act as a quality champion, enforcing coding standards and improvements.
• Work in a Scrum-based environment with close collaboration across disciplines.
