We're Hiring: Software Control Engineer

Location: JBT Marel Stovring

Employment Type: Full‑time, Hybrid (2‑3 days a week at the office)

About the Role

As a Control Software Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working with mechanical engineers in Stovring. You will develop and maintain PLC and HMI software for multiple systems and collaborate closely with other disciplines and customers.

We focus on mixers and grinders within prepared foods. The team consists of 70 colleagues in Denmark and the Netherlands; you will work with a daily team of 15 members. You will turn ideas into software designs and industrial solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in design, implementation and testing of software modules and features on our equipment.
• Analyze requirements and write design specifications.
• Contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit.
• Provide customer‑site work related to new product releases, installation support and training.
• Offer technical support to internal customers.
• Engage in day‑to‑day discussions with other disciplines such as mechanical and electrical.
• Prepare and upgrade/install systems at customer locations worldwide.
• Maintain technical and technological knowledge in your field.

What You Bring

• ​Bachelor's degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent PLC programming/controls experience.
• Experience with PLC programming, structured text and ladder logic.
• Experience developing machine UI/GUI.
• Knowledge of frequency drives.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols like EtherNetIP, OPC‑UA.
• Ability to develop software features for standard equipment and order engineering, including line control with third‑party machines and commissioning at customers.
• Familiarity with PackML standards.
• Capability reading and understanding electrical drawings.
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC platform, Studio 5000 or B&R PLC.
• Experience with FactoryTalk ME/SE or Optix.
• Knowledge of B&R PLC advantages (Automation Studio).
