Job summary

Suir Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a Fredericia, Denmark project. You will lead the electrical design, development of schematics, and HV system studies for substations while coordinating with clients and the project team.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in HV energy/renewables, with opportunities for rotation, CPD, and professional chartership support.

Qualifications

• Third level degree in Electrical Engineering with significant project experience.
• Experience in HV energy and renewable sector is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review schematic drawings and single line diagrams.
• Conduct HV system studies including protection coordination and arc flash reports.
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of GIS/AIS substations.
• Prepare technical specifications and enquiry documentation.
• Coordinate with clients and design teams on technical issues.
• Monitor progress, prepare progress reports, and manage site electrical issues.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work using MS Project.

Job description

We have exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be based on a Substation project in Fredericia, Denmark.

What You Will Be Doing

• Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams
• Developing HV system studies including protection coordination, arc flash, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of GIS and AIS Substations
• Complying with specific project safety requirements
• Detailed design covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems
• Specification, selection and procurement of the range of equipment
• Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation
• Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
• Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Carry out document control, recording and transmitting information.
• Liaising and co-ordinating with clients, other members of the design team and contractors on technical issues.
• Managing all technical queries on site and assist project team in all site electrical engineering issues to include: the management, the planning, the testing and commissioning and the handover of all project systems.
• Prepare programs using MS project.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.
• Assemble bid, approval, and construction issue drawing packages.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessary.
• Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
• Use computers extensively to produce and analyse designs.
• Supervise technicians and other engineers during development phase.
• Build, test and modify product prototypes.
• Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by your manager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company

Suitable Candidates must have a third level degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer in the HV Energy and Renewable Sector.
