Job summary

Suir Engineering invites applications for our 18‑month graduate programme, with on‑site work in Fredericia, Denmark. The role supports the EHS Manager on compliance, risk controls and site safety across European projects.

We offer structured training, exposure to multi‑site teams, and opportunities to advance through a clearly defined graduate pathway with international projects in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS Manager in ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Workplace Legislation.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Construction Team on the Integrated Management System.
• Set up Site-Specific Construction EHS Plans for projects.
• Become SME in Suir’s High Risk Activities and ensure control on site.
• Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Contribute to SOP development and provide training to site personnel.
• Promote the Suir Way and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
• Investigate incidents and identify root causes, mitigating and communicating findings.

We are currently expanding significantly and are delivering large scale projects across Ireland, the U.K, Germany, Denmark & Sweden.

What you will be doing?

• Assist the EHS Manager in achieving Suir’s Critical Success Factor 1 – ‘To ensure we are fully compliant in all Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation’
• Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System
• Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site‑Specific Construction EHS Plan.
• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all of Suir’s High Risk Activities (HRAs) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
• Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
• Assist with the development of SOPs and provide training and communication to site personnel.
• Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
• Report and investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.
