Job summary

AGC Biologics is seeking a Senior Downstream Laborant for a 9-month maternity cover in our Late-Stage Process Development team. The role focuses on downstream processing and protein purification using ÄKTA systems, with data generation to support process development.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in protein purification, experience in development/pilot labs, and familiarity with cGMP environments. English proficiency and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience with protein purification.
• Experience in a development or pilot-scale laboratory.
• Practical experience with downstream techniques: clarification, centrifugation, chromatography and ultrafiltration.
• Experience with ÄKTA chromatography systems.
• Good English language skills, written and spoken.
• cGMP experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Clarification and centrifugation: perform these activities as part of downstream processing.
• Chromatography: operate chromatography using ÄKTA systems.
• Ultrafiltration: carry out ultrafiltration as part of protein purification processes.
• Laboratory operations: operate, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Documentation: record experimental work and results accurately and in accordance with procedures.
• Collaboration: work with technicians, scientists and colleagues across departments to support process development.
