Job summary

Terma seeks (Senior) Data Scientists for its Accelerator team in Denmark. You will train deep learning models on large, diverse data and collaborate with drone, robotics, and software experts to turn research into field-ready solutions for defense and security.

You will build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, ensure security standards and work across sensors, storage, and customer-facing interfaces in a fast-moving, English-speaking team.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience delivering end-to-end AI solutions in production.
• Strong background in deep learning and ML modelling.

Responsibilities

We are looking for (Senior) Data Scientists to join the Accelerator team. The Accelerator brings together AI specialists, software developers, drone and robotics experts, and business developers to turn emerging technologies into solutions for real operational needs. We work closely with Danish Defense and allied forces, involving end users from the very beginning and taking ideas quickly from concept to testing in the field.

Your role in our team

As our new (Senior) Data Scientist to the Accelerator team, you will work with vast amounts of untamed data, training deep learning models that push the boundaries of what is possible. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in building and evaluating models, ensuring top-tier quality and generalization.

In close collaboration with our data and ML engineers you will have responsibilities in the building and maintenance of the data pipelines from data acquisition to producing predictions. This part of the job involves teamwork and understanding of the various interfaces from sensors to customer-facing UI to our own storage infrastructure. Furthermore, you will take ownership of data and AI modeling for specific, impactful projects.

Handling classified information and systems that matter, you will have a strong voice in maintaining military-grade security while driving development forward. Your key responsibilities include:

• Build and evaluate state-of-the-art deep learning and AI models
• Take ownership of data and AI modelling across key projects
• Develop models that solve complex, real-world challenges using sensors and other large-scale data
• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from data acquisition to production-ready predictions
• Collaborate closely with data, ML and software engineers to integrate models into scalable and secure systems
• Work with data streams, brokers and interfaces across sensors, storage infrastructure and customer-facing solutions

Bring your world class expertise into play

For this role we expect you to hold a relevant degree in engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. That said, we are more impressed by your crazy, interesting and impressive hobby projects than perfect grades. Whether you are a recent graduate or bring a few years of experience, your skillset might include:

• Experience with deep learning and/or machine learning modelling in Python
• Experience implementing AI solutions end-to-end, from data collection to customer-facing features
• Experience working with sensor data, including parsing data and extracting relevant information
• Ability to evaluate AI approaches, including defining metrics and making well-founded design choices
• Ability to write production-ready AI code, for example data ingestion, APIs and Docker packaging
• A collaborative approach to developing code and AI solutions
• A fair understanding of statistics
