Job summary

Unity Technologies seeks a Staff Engineer, Data Platform to build and scale the data infrastructure powering our Ads business and Unity Commons, our internal platform used across Unity. You will operate at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, data engineering, and platform architecture, owning critical capabilities for high-throughput, reliable data flows.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or data platforms.
• Backend and systems engineering with API design and production operations.
• Understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and evolution of scalable platform services and self-service tooling.
• Work across distributed systems, data pipelines, cloud infra, observability and reliability.
• Partner with Ads, infra, data, and product teams to deliver reusable solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for cross-functional initiatives.
• Contribute to platform patterns and engineering best practices.
