Job summary

Danske Bank is seeking a skilled Java backend engineer for an event-driven, cloud-native Cloud Archive squad in Denmark. You will replace a decades-old mainframe with a scalable, reliable archive solution hosted in AWS, handling billions of documents and hundreds of millions of requests yearly.

You will own the full lifecycle of cloud-based archive solutions, from design through deployment, collaborating with product owners and engineers across Denmark, Lithuania, and India.

Qualifications

• Deep Java backend expertise with domain-driven design and clean architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design large-scale data storage and retrieval systems using AWS services
• Build highly scalable, elastic solutions prioritizing performance and response times
• Deploy applications using Java 25, ECS clusters, S3, DynamoDB, and Terraform
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and security requirements
• Implement resilient services with failover and disaster recovery capabilities
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
