Danske Bank is seeking a skilled Java backend engineer for an event-driven, cloud-native Cloud Archive squad in Denmark. You will replace a decades-old mainframe with a scalable, reliable archive solution hosted in AWS, handling billions of documents and hundreds of millions of requests yearly.
You will own the full lifecycle of cloud-based archive solutions, from design through deployment, collaborating with product owners and engineers across Denmark, Lithuania, and India.

You will work in the Cloud Archive squad, a growing team within Customer Capabilities, where 120+ colleagues across Denmark, Lithuania, and India build robust solutions for millions of customers. Your work involves designing and implementing a greenfield archive solution that gradually replaces the existing system, handling billions of documents, and hundreds of millions of requests yearly. You will own the entire lifecycle of cloud-based archive solutions, from design through deployment.
It would be great if you also have experience with asynchronous communication patterns like Kafka, large-scale systems design, or infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
You will join an autonomous squad with end-to-end ownership of cloud solutions, working with current technology including GitHub Copilot and AWS Services.
