Job summary

Monta seeks a Senior Engineer for the Financial Services team to own the architecture and delivery of complex invoicing and regulatory-compliance systems across Europe. You will drive end-to-end design, collaborate with Finance, Legal, Revenue Ops and Product, and leverage AI to move faster.

You will shape scalable payment flows, ensure auditability, and be accountable for outcomes while mentoring teammates in a fast-moving, AI-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with scalable systems.
• Experience with financial systems (billing, invoicing, payments).
• Ability to own architecture across multiple teams and drive design decisions.
• Ownership mindset: accountable for outcomes, not just tasks.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity in regulatory and business contexts.
• Curiosity about financial infrastructure (invoicing, VAT, compliance).
• Advanced AI adoption: daily tool usage to improve design, build and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own the new invoice system end-to-end with scalable architecture.
• Build and scale EU compliance infrastructure (e-invoicing, fiscalization, VAT).
• Improve payment flows from card to payout with reliable reconciliation.
• Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Revenue Ops, and Product to implement new billing models.
• Drive architecture decisions to ensure traceability and auditability of euros.
• Mentor and grow the Financial Services engineering team through reviews and knowledge sharing.
