Job summary

STS Group Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person to take control of LV and MV systems across projects. You will ensure safe operation, isolation, and energisation in line with safety procedures and statutory requirements.

The role requires proven AP training, strong knowledge of LV/MV distribution, and the ability to lead on safety-critical tasks while coordinating on-site works with contractors.

Qualifications

• Must hold recognised electrical engineering or trade qualification.
• Formal Authorised Person (LV/MV) training is required.
• Experience with LV/MV distribution systems and electrical safety legislation.
• Ability to interpret switching schedules, isolations and energisation procedures.
• Experience managing safety-critical tasks and leading on-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as Senior Authorised Person for LV/MV systems across projects.
• Issue and coordinate Permits to Work.
• Carry out safe isolation and switching operations.
• Support LV & MV energisation and maintenance planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures and standards.
• Manage contractors and supervise electrical works on-site.
• Conduct electrical safety audits, fault investigations and reporting.
• Maintain system documentation and switching schedules.
• Participate in emergency response and fault rectification.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (AP) to take control of both LV and MV systems across our projects. You will ensure safe operation, maintenance, isolation, and energisation of electrical infrastructure in line with statutory requirements and company safety procedures. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about electrical safety and system reliability.

Key duties of this role

• Senior Authorised Person for LV/MV systems
• Issue and coordinate Permits to Work
• Carry out safe isolation and switching operations
• Support planning, management, and execution of LV & MV energisation and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures, and technical standards

Key Qualifications Required

• Proven experience in electrical operations within critical or complex estates

• Ability to work under pressure and lead on safety-critical tasks
