Job summary

STS Group is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (AP) to take control of LV and MV systems on projects across our operations. You will ensure safe operation, isolation, energisation, and compliance with safety procedures while coordinating with contractors on-site.

The role requires recognised electrical qualifications and formal AP training, with strong knowledge of LV/MV systems and legislation. You will lead safety-critical tasks and support fault rectification and audits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised electrical engineering or trade qualification.
• Formal Authorised Person (LV/MV) training.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV distribution systems.
• Familiar with safe systems of work and electrical safety legislation.
• Experience in electrical operations within critical or complex estates.
• Excellent communication and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to lead on safety-critical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Senior Authorised Person for LV/MV systems.
• Issue and coordinate Permits to Work.
• Carry out safe isolation and switching operations.
• Support planning, management, and execution of LV & MV energisation and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures, and standards.
• Manage contractors and supervise electrical works on-site.
• Conduct electrical safety audits, fault investigations, and reports.
• Maintain system documentation, drawings, and switching schedules.
• Participate in emergency response and fault rectification.
