Job summary

GN Store Nord A/S is seeking a Senior AI Agent Engineer to own and evolve the delivery platform enabling AI agents to assist engineering teams in delivering reliable software. You will shape technical direction, build and operate production-grade systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable, observable AI-driven workflows.

The role is based in Ballerup with flexible, hybrid work where in-person collaboration is preferred at times.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and operating reliable software systems.
• Experience deploying and operating an LLM-powered system in production.
• Ability to work with interfaces, schemas, state management and observability.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the platform that enables AI agents to perform engineering work end to end, with human approval and clear visibility.
• Set the technical direction and architecture, making informed decisions and communicating the rationale behind them.
• Build, deploy and operate production-grade systems, with accountability for reliability, cost, latency and traceability.
• Develop tooling that helps agents work effectively across a large codebase, including context retrieval and measurement of solution performance.
• Design resilient workflows with guardrails, deterministic fallbacks and approval gates that people can understand and trust.
• Expand automation into relevant parts of the software delivery lifecycle, while evaluating and retiring approaches that do not deliver value.
• Partner closely with engineering teams whose code and pipelines the platform supports, building trust through collaboration and practical outcomes.

In the role of Senior AI Agent Engineer in the Engineering Excellence team within Software Solutions, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will build and operate the production platform that enables AI agents to support engineering teams in delivering reliable software.

The Team you will be part of:

Engineering Excellence is a small, experienced team within Software Solutions, based in Ballerup near Copenhagen. We have a clear mandate to evolve how GN builds and delivers software.

We explore how work happens across the software organisation, identify where automation adds value and where human judgement remains essential, and build practical solutions ourselves. As the team grows, you will play a central role in developing the AI agent delivery platform and creating trusted ways of working with engineering teams.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:

• Bring solid engineering judgement and experience designing, building and operating reliable software systems.
• May have experience taking solutions from an early prototype to a production system that people rely on.
• Have experience deploying and operating an LLM-powered system in production, including learning from incidents and improving its reliability.
• Think in interfaces, schemas, state management and asynchronous workflows, and apply a structured approach to observability, retry logic and cost control.
• Work well with people across teams and disciplines, are comfortable navigating evolving practices, and bring a thoughtful approach to AI agent security, including prompt injection.

You will work with Python in an environment that is largely based on C#, .NET and Azure. Experience with the Microsoft stack is an add-on, as this is where much of our software is developed; experience with Python is also beneficial but not required from day one.
