Job summary

Vestas seeks a Specialist - Aeroelastic Modelling to lead aeroelastic modelling capabilities, ensuring accurate simulations and robust engineering decisions for next-gen wind turbine platforms.

You will govern the modelling framework, maintain numerical fidelity, and drive technology initiatives across Loads & Control. The role blends physics, software, and engineering leadership in a global wind energy context.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Mechanical/Structural/Aerospace/related discipline.
• 10+ years in aeroelasticity and wind-turbine/aircraft structure modelling.
• Experience with aeroelastic tools (HAWC2/OpenFAST etc.).
• Proven experience owning or governing modelling frameworks and production-grade software.
• Strong numerical methods, verification/validation, and engineering decision support.
• Experience with Python and modern engineering workflows is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the Aeroelastic Modelling capability as a governed service within the Simulation Production System.
• Act as technical authority for modelling systems and results.
• Lead evolution of aeroelastic solver technologies for performance and scalability.
• Provide expert guidance across turbine modelling activities and product lifecycle.
• Drive modelling-related technology initiatives and capability development.
• Promote rigorous, traceable, reproducible simulation outcomes.
