Job summary

Bactolife ApS seeks a skilled Scientist for the Assay Development & Analytics team to develop analytical methods for characterization, quality control, and release of Binding Protein ingredients.

The role combines hands-on lab work with data analysis to turn analytical questions into robust, reliable methods, focusing on HPLC-based protein analytics and method transfer to external partners.

Qualifications

• MSc and PhD in biochemistry, biotechnology, food technology, or related field.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in analytical development or QC in pharma, food, or related industries.
• Experience with SEC and affinity chromatography, preferably using HPLC/UPLC.
• Experience with Chromeleon is an advantage.
• Structured, meticulous approach to experiments, data analysis, and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independent troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with ELISA and/or SPR is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize HPLC methods for protein identification and quantification (SEC, affinity chromatography).
• Design and execute stability studies to establish storage conditions and product formats.
• Plan and perform experiments, analyze data, interpret results, and draw conclusions.
• Support analytical method transfer to external partners for reliability outside development lab.
• Support product release and QC activities, and in-house strain/process optimization.
• Provide analytical data and insights to help the commercial team meet customer needs.
• Troubleshoot chromatography systems and analytical equipment.
• Investigate OOS results and deviations, identify root causes, implement solutions.
• Write and maintain SOPs, study protocols, analytics reports, and technical docs.
• Ensure methods and results are robust, accurate, traceable, and compliant with quality/regulatory requirements.
