Job summary

BWSC is seeking a Mechanical Technician in Brigg, UK, to lead mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot issues and coordinate 3rd party suppliers. You will ensure safety, reliability and efficiency while preserving engineering integrity across the plant.

Role reports to the Maintenance Team Leader/Manager and involves CMMS planning, RAMS submission and on-site supervision of contractors. Hybrid travel may be required; 40-hour weeks, Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• ONC / C&G / NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline is essential, with practical maintenance experience.
• Good understanding of HSE aspects; IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
• Engineering experience in a maintenance role.
• Experience with permit and safety systems (LOLER/PSSR).
• Familiar with steam turbines, combustion systems, steam cycle chemistry, WTP, generators and emissions.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance/repair of valves, pumps, fans, drives and conveyors.
• Ability to read P&ID and isometric diagrams.
• Computer literate with MS Office and CMMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the plant according to OEM guidance and legislation to maximise availability.
• Execute daily planned maintenance per CMMS plan and submit RAMS where required.
• Diagnose faults and repair plant with or without 3rd party support.
• Proactively improve plant reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Supervise on-site 3rd party providers and accept RAMS.
• Maintain CMMS with all historical works.
• Own or manage multiple 3rd party contracts for maintenance.
• Perform engineering integrity assessments (floor gratings, handrails, ladders).
• Provide engineering support to fuel handling and operations teams.
• Manage spare parts and critical stock levels.
• Support outage planning and coordination with internal and external teams.
• Adhere to HSEQ policies and develop site procedures.
