Job summary

UNFPA in Copenhagen seeks an Inventory Accounting and Control Assistant consultant within the SCMU to lead inventory control activities and accurate ERP transaction processing.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will collaborate with Country Offices and partners, support year-end closing, reporting, governance, risk, and capacity-strengthening initiatives, and help deliver efficient supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in financial management, inventory management, accounting or related area.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain broad partnerships.
• Experience using ERP systems and ability to synthesize complex supply chain documents.
• Professional written and spoken presentation skills for reports and dashboards.
• Knowledge of UNFPA planning documents and supply chain governance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• A. Lead strategic Inventory Accounting and Control to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions in the ERP system.
• Check compliance with UNFPA inventory policy across Country Offices.
• Assist with inventory adjustments, write-offs and year-end closure activities.
• Prepare inventory performance reports and suggest actions to improve control and efficiency.
• Support Governance, Risk, Compliance and Reporting activities.
