Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Power Supply Engineer to design power systems, provide calculations, and support installation and commissioning for rail projects. You will review layouts, coordinate power availability, and ensure safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have >5 years in electrical/power systems for infrastructure or industrial projects, with strong documentation discipline and experience in earthing, bonding, and protection coordination.

Qualifications

Electrical engineering experience in rail, infrastructure, industrial, telecoms or mission-critical power systems.
Knowledge of LV distribution, UPS, protection coordination, earthing/bonding, electrical safety and commissioning evidence.
Ability to coordinate power dependencies across many systems.
Practical electrical safety mindset and documentation rigour.

Responsibilities

Develop/review load lists, power requirements, single-line diagrams, UPS/backup arrangements, protection philosophy and earthing interfaces.
Coordinate power availability for equipment and ensure energisation readiness.
Review supplier/subcontract electrical designs, calculations and installation records.
Support site surveys, inspections, commissioning and fault investigations.
