Job description

Application deadline: 10th of November - We’ll review applications on an ongoing basis, so don’t wait too long to send yours.

Turn complex risk into sharp insights – and help shape better trading decisions.

We’re looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our Risk team and work right where quantitative analysis meets energy trading. You’ll work closely with our traders, dive into market exposures, and develop models and tools that turn complex data into actionable insights.

This isn't just about monitoring risk. It's about understanding the markets, challenging assumptions, and helping our trading desks make informed decisions. You'll have direct access to the front office, real influence on how we manage risk, and the freedom to improve the way we do things.

What you’ll do
  • Act as a dedicated risk partner to our trading desks, providing quantitative insights and sparring with traders on day-to-day decisions
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quantitative models and analytical tools that help us measure, monitor, and understand market, liquidity, and credit risk
  • Analyze trading positions and exposures across markets to identify key risk drivers, concentrations, and emerging risks
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessments of new markets, products, and trading strategies
  • Stay close to market developments and proactively engage with traders and stakeholders to continuously improve our risk setup
  • Optimize and maintain our risk mandates, making sure limits evolve alongside our trading strategies and markets
  • Develop and automate risk monitoring, reporting, and analytical processes to bring data and models closer to daily decision-making
  • Help evolve our risk framework, methodologies, and stress-testing capabilities
  • Handle day-to-day risk topics as markets move and portfolio exposures change
Your team

You’ll join a small, skilled, and collaborative Risk team where autonomy is the default. We work closely with our trading desks, combining quantitative skills, market knowledge, and a commercial mindset to make risk management an active part of trading decisions.

Expect direct access to traders, fast feedback loops, and colleagues who are ready to spar, support, and challenge you. We value curiosity, ownership, and people who aren't afraid to rethink how things are done.

What you bring
  • 2–3 years of experience in Risk Management or a similar quantitative role, ideally within energy trading
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills – and the ability to turn complex data and models into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Python and experience developing analytical tools or quantitative models
  • Experience using AI tools to improve analytical workflows, automate processes, and work smarter with data
  • A solid understanding of market risk, trading exposures, and risk methodologies
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in how risk management can support trading decisions
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
How you work
  • You connect the dots between data, models, and trading decisions – and make sure your insights have real impact
  • You build strong relationships and become a trusted sparring partner to traders and colleagues
  • You're proactive and stay ahead of emerging risks and market developments rather than waiting for issues to arise
  • You're curious about energy markets and eager to build deep domain knowledge of products, strategies, and market dynamics
  • You challenge assumptions, think critically, and look for smarter ways to manage risk
  • You take ownership, communicate clearly, and know that great results come from working together
What you can expect from us
  • Real influence – work close to the trading desks and see your analysis make a difference in daily decisions
  • Autonomy and ownership – the freedom to challenge existing setups, improve tools, and drive your own ideas forward
  • A steep learning curve – build deep market expertise alongside skilled traders and risk professionals
  • Brilliant colleagues – ambitious people who challenge, support, and learn from each other
  • A casual, no-fluff environment – no dress code, no unnecessary red tape
  • A strong culture – built on trust, transparency, and rethinking the way things are done

At InCommodities, risk isn't just about setting limits. It's about understanding risk well enough to make bold, informed decisions.

We’re InCommodities Europe – and we don’t do business as usual. Whether it’s how we trade energy or how we build culture, we challenge the status quo every step of the way.

The energy market is shifting – from fossil fuels to renewables. We’re part of that transition. At InCommodities Europe, we act as the middleman between buyers and sellers of power and gas. We move energy across borders to where it’s needed most, or store it and sell it when the time is right. We play a critical role in the value chain – from production to consumption – ensuring energy gets where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

Our trading decisions are driven by deep market insight and powered by data, quantitative analysis, and constant curiosity.

Making InCommodities outstanding takes all kinds of people – different personalities, backgrounds, and ways of thinking. But we’re united by one thing: We’re fuelled by ideas. And we’re here to rethink status quo.

Our culture

At InCommodities, we win as a team. You’ll work alongside bold, honest, and ambitious people who challenge each other to grow – and get better every day.

Autonomy is real here, and it comes with trust. You’re expected to take ownership and make decisions that move InCommodities forward. Not by asking for permission, but by working with the right people to get it right. You’ve got freedom – and a strong team to back you up.

We care about personal and cultural fit. Not because we expect everyone to be the same, but because we’re building a place where people genuinely enjoy working – and want to stick around.

Expect a casual vibe. We keep a flat hierarchy, no dress code, and no corporate red tape to slow you down. Just trust, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun along the way. And yes, we like to hang out outside office hours as well.
