Job description

Job Description

Do you thrive on making buildings smarter and more efficient? Are you an experienced project manager who can oversee complex Building Management System (BMS) and HVAC projects from planning to completion?

At TILSTROM Engineering & Consulting, we are looking for a Project Manager (BMS/HVAC) to join our growing team of consultants. In this permanent full‑time position, you will manage the planning and execution of building automation projects for our clients, ensuring environments such as pharmaceutical production sites, office buildings, and large renovations are equipped with high‑quality BMS/HVAC solutions. You will coordinate closely with clients, contractors, and engineering teams to implement effective BMS and HVAC systems on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead end‑to‑end BMS/HVAC projects from initial requirements and design through installation, commissioning, and handover, coordinating multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, contractors) to ensure smooth execution.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, adjusting plans as needed to meet deadlines and financial targets.
  • Ensure all building systems meet performance specifications and comply with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., energy efficiency guidelines, HVAC codes, GMP for pharma).
  • Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors during system installation and integration, addressing technical issues or delays promptly.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, facility managers, and other stakeholders to report progress, align expectations, and resolve issues quickly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services) or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in building technology, construction, or industrial automation, with a focus on BMS and/or HVAC systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation and HVAC systems, including familiarity with common BMS platforms and relevant industry standards.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in environments such as pharmaceutical production facilities, commercial buildings, or data centers.
  • Excellent project management skills (scheduling, budgeting, risk management); a project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Danish is beneficial.
About You

You are a structured, results‑driven professional who takes pride in delivering projects that improve building performance. You excel at multitasking and remain calm and organized when managing many moving parts, from schedules to technical challenges. You enjoy being in the thick of projects, solving problems on‑site and ensuring everything comes together as planned.

You are adaptable and thrive in a consultant role where priorities can shift and each project brings new challenges. You take ownership of your work, keep projects moving forward, and contribute positively to every team you are part of. Your approachable leadership style and clear communication help build trust with clients and team members alike, ensuring everyone works toward the same goals.

Benefits

By joining TILSTROM you’ll become part of a strong, growing team of engineering consultants who support and learn from each other. We maintain a professional yet friendly work environment, with a flat hierarchy that encourages open communication and collaboration. You’ll enjoy the stability of a full‑time position, flexible hours, and a healthy work‑life balance. This role offers long‑term development prospects across different industries.
