Job summary

BEC is a Danish full-service Fintech with 60+ years of IT experience in finance. We seek a Product Owner for our Roskilde office to shape Payments offerings, aligning with FI needs, regulations, and market trends.

You will collaborate with the BEC development domains, government agencies, and sector groups, driving value with stakeholders and delivery teams in an agile setting. Your manager is Product Manager Marius Ørum.

Qualifications

• Experience in Payments domain and knowledge of Danish/European payment infrastructure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Agile development experience and familiarity with Jira.
• Ability to translate business needs into IT development.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Convert business needs of financial institutions into BEC Payment offerings.
• Drive discovery to define right business outcomes including regulatory tasks.
• Refine epics and features and socialize with development teams.
• Prioritize backlog features with FI representatives.
• Plan and participate in implementation activities with banks.
• Develop and maintain product strategy and roadmaps for Payments.

Job description

BEC is a Danish full-service Fintech that has more than 60 years’ experience in developing and operating IT in the financial sector. The Product team for Payments are seeking a new Product Owner to our Roskilde office. Working in the Payment space, you will take part in a value chain that impacts millions of people, businesses and government to conduct, every single day. The team’s responsibility covers a range of products, from front-end payment channels to the back-end clearing and execution of payments. As a Product Owner, you will identify, scope and initiate initiatives that will shape the future of Denmark’s payment IT infrastructure, following sector and regulatory requirements, business development and innovation agendas.

You will also ensure that priorities are aligned with stakeholder expectations and be the connection towards our delivery teams. As such, you will become a key contributor to BECs journey to continuously improve our collaboration model according to agile principles. You will collaborate closely with the Financial Institutions in the BEC community, the BEC development domains, governmental agencies, sector collaborations and other relevant parties in the sector. You will be a valuable member in a lean, collaborative and experienced team – that collectively holds the product responsibility for one of BECs core offerings. Your direct manager will be Product Manager, Marius Ørum.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Work closely together with financial institutions (FI’s) in the BEC community to convert business needs into BECs Payment offerings

• Drive the problem discovery process to figure out what are the right business outcomes for FI’s including regulation, sector and compliance tasks

• Drive refinement of business needs in epics and features and socialize these with development teams and stakeholders

• Prioritize features in development backlog together with FI’s

• Plan & participate in implementations activities towards banks

• Develop and maintain product strategy and roadmap for Payments products according to market insight to business opportunity, solutions/tools, competitors, legislation etc.

To succeed you will have:

• A natural drive to clarify business requirements based on a product mindset and together with FI representatives form the basis for IT development of Payment solutions

• Experience with Payments area both cross border and Danish domestic payments, preferable also knowledge about Swift infrastructure and various payment schemes SEPA, TIPS etc.

• Well-developed communication and collaboration skills including handling of many stakeholders at all levels

• Ability to stay focused on delivering business value to the banks and their customers even under tight deadlines and changing priorities

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Experience in participating in IT development and bridging the gap between business and software development

• Understanding of agile development, including use of Jira for development epics and features

• Understanding of the Danish and European financial infrastructure and participants
