Job summary

Gubra is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to shape technology choices across the organisation. You will partner closely with the CTO and act as a bridge between business, science, and technology to translate needs into architecture options for SaaS, AI, data, and cloud platforms.

You will define architecture principles, assess build-vs-buy decisions, and ensure solutions are technically viable while enabling teams to move fast and responsibly. This is based in Hørsholm, Denmark.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience as an Enterprise Architect or Principal Architect.
• Experience across enterprise applications, data, cloud, integrations, security, and modern software platforms.
• Understanding of ERP and enterprise business systems, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with AI architectures and modern AI capabilities in business workflows; pharma/biotech/R&D exposure is a plus.

• Evaluating COTS and SaaS solutions and supporting build-vs-buy decisions.

Principal Enterprise Architect – shape the technology choices behind Gubra’s growth

Build, buy, integrate or simplify? As Gubra grows, so does the number and complexity of technology decisions across the organisation. Gubra is therefore looking for a Principal Enterprise Architect who can bring direction and coherence to its technology landscape.

In this newly established role, you will become a close architectural partner to the CTO and work across business, science, and technology. Your job is not to own one particular platform or technology. Instead, you will help Gubra make the right technology choices across scientific systems, enterprise applications, ERP, data, AI, cloud, and integrations.

Turn complex needs into pragmatic technology choices

As Principal Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with business leaders, scientists, Product Managers, and technology teams to understand what they are trying to achieve before translating those needs into architecture options and recommendations.

That could mean assessing whether to build a capability internally or invest in a SaaS platform. Another could involve defining how a new solution should integrate with Gubra's existing landscape, exploring an AI opportunity, or helping a new venture establish a technology foundation that works today without limiting it tomorrow.

You will also help establish the architecture principles, standards, and guardrails that create consistency across Gubra. The ambition is not architecture for architecture's sake, but enough direction to enable teams to make better decisions independently.

An architect who asks the right questions

You bring 5+ years of relevant experience as an Enterprise Architect, Principal Architect, or in a similar role, with broad experience across enterprise applications, data, cloud, integrations, security, and modern software platforms.

You understand ERP and enterprise business systems and how they connect to a broader technology landscape. You are comfortable discussing APIs, integration patterns, identity, security, cloud architecture, and data interoperability, and you have experience assessing COTS or SaaS platforms and making technology recommendations.

You also understand modern AI architecture and how AI capabilities can become part of real business workflows. Experience from pharma, biotech, life sciences, drug discovery, or another R&D-intensive environment is relevant, while experience with GxP is an advantage.

Just as importantly, you are curious enough to challenge the problem before proposing the solution. You can discuss opportunities with business leaders and scientists and then go into sufficient technical depth with engineers to make decisions credible and implementable.

You are comfortable influencing across teams without formal authority and know when architecture adds value – and when it simply adds another layer of complexity.

The position is based at Gubra in Hørsholm, Denmark and reports directly to the CTO.
