Job summary

Tryg is recruiting a Principal Data Engineer to set the data engineering direction across the organization. You will define standards, create reference solutions, and drive reusable patterns that empower 150+ data engineers.

You will collaborate with Platform Engineering and Data Enablement to shape architecture, tooling and ways of working at scale. You will lead by example, coach teams, and influence senior engineers while maintaining a hands-on, production-grade focus on data platforms and

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, frameworks or reusable patterns.
• Ability to influence senior engineers and technical leaders across teams.
• Experience driving adoption at scale and changing how teams work.
• Experience with Databricks and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve engineering standards across development, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
• Develop reference implementations and reusable patterns adopted across teams.
• Co-create frameworks, automation and platform capabilities with Platform Engineering.
• Help shape Tryg's core data architecture and engineering principles.
• Drive adoption and raise technical maturity through guidance and knowledge sharing.
