DTU Engineering Technology invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral researcher position focused on real-time spatial audio and multisensory XR at the intersection of acoustics, signal processing, XR, and human perception. You will develop physics-based and data-driven audio rendering methods and work with international partners across XR, haptics, AI, and healthcare.

The role requires a PhD and offers a collaborative, international environment within the European OmenXR Horizon project.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in acoustics, signal processing, XR, HCI or a related field.
  • Strong background in spatial audio and perceptual evaluation.
  • Programming/prototyping experience and interest in empirical user research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time spatial audio rendering using physics-based and data-driven approaches.
  • Investigate personalised audio, environmental soundscapes, interactive sounds, and auditory augmentation.
  • Integrate and synchronize audio with visual, haptic, and other sensory modalities.
  • Conduct perceptual studies and contribute to multisensory use cases.
