Starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible, with a deadline of 23 September 2026. The successful candidate will work on reactor design and microbial processes, collaborating across biotechnology, chemistry, and engineering, at Gustav Wieds Vej 10C, Aarhus

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with H2/CO2-based anaerobic pure cultures of methanogens or acetogens (lab work)
  • Strong understanding of microbial physiology, growth kinetics, thermodynamics
  • Experience with microbial inhibition models and simulations
  • Data analysis using model-based approaches
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and operate reactor systems for CO2 capture and conversion to methane and acetic acid
  • Study anaerobic microorganisms catalyzing H2/CO2 to biochemical products
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary CO2 center and university groups
  • Contribute to teaching and supervision within the Microbial Conversion Technologies group
