Job summary

The Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University invites applications for a 24-month research position focusing on microbial conversion of CO2 to methane and acetic acid as part of CORC. The project aims to develop biotechnology for CO2-neutral chemicals using renewable energy and industrial CO2 sources.

You will design and operate reactor systems for CO2 capture and conversion, study anaerobic H2/CO2-consuming microorganisms, and contribute to supervision and teaching

Qualifications

  • PhD in microbiology or biotechnology required.
  • Hands-on experience with H2/CO2-based anaerobic cultures (methanogens or acetogens).
  • Knowledge of microbial physiology, growth kinetics and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with microbial inhibition models and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
