Job summary

AALBORG UNIVERSITY, via AAU Energy, invites applications for a Postdoc position focused on sodium‑ion battery state estimation. Based at Aalborg University’s campus in Aalborg, the role is linked to the Batteries group within Mechatronic Systems and spans up to 20 months beginning 1 November 2026.

The candidate will conduct research on BMS for sodium‑ion cells, develop models and estimation algorithms, and contribute to international publications and conferences.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrochemistry or related field.
  • Strong battery state estimation experience and modeling skills.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and lab-based experimentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on sodium-ion battery state estimation and BMS development.
  • Design experiments, analyze data, and publish results in journals.
  • Collaborate with internal groups and external partners in Denmark and abroad.
  • Contribute to project proposals and supervise students where applicable.
