Job summary

University of Copenhagen invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral position in science education research, starting preferably February 2027. The postdoc will contribute to ACCESS, a collaboration between DTU, UCPH, and ESS, and will be based in the Section for Didactics, Department of Science Education.

The role includes co-creating learning materials, implementing digital twins in teaching, data collection/analysis, and dissemination in international journals, with teaching duties

Qualifications

• PhD in science education, physics education, chemistry education, engineering education, or related field.
• Experience with mixed-methods research (qualitative + quantitative).
• Ability to communicate research clearly in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Co-create research-based learning materials and teaching modules with scientists and teachers.
• Participate in design-based research cycles of the digital twins in real educational settings.
• Collect empirical data from course implementations (e.g., observations, interviews, questionnaires).
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data on student learning and transfer of knowledge.
• Publish research results in international journals in collaboration with team.
• Engage in cross-institutional collaboration (DTU, UCPH, ESS).
• Teach and disseminate activities amounting to ~20% of working time.
