Job summary

DTU – Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a postdoctoral position in BRIGHT's Mission 2 microbial food programme. You will lead experiments on fungal heterogeneity, develop imaging workflows for solid-state fermentation samples, and engineer filamentous fungi, with focus on data visualization and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on confocal microscopy experience, preferably with fungi.
• Experience with genetic engineering in fungi is a plus.
• Experience with cryosectioning or related methods is preferred.
• Experience in automated image analysis is desirable.
• Experience with DESI imaging is optional.
• Strong interest in fungal biology and ecology is required.
• Interest in public engagement and science communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute experiments within the project.
• Coordinate activities with internal groups and external partners; ensure progress.
• Publish results in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
• Develop and optimize microscopy workflows; visualize and interpret data.
• Collaborate across disciplines and maintain rigorous, reproducible research practices.
