Job summary

BRIGHT at DTU invites an ambitious Research Assistant to investigate ecological and genetic drivers of texture in fermented foods. You will apply mycology, genomics, transcriptomics, and confocal imaging to understand how fungal morphology shapes texture and flavor under food-innovation goals.

Based in the Fermentation Cultures group at BRIGHT, you will work with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to AI-powered design of microbial foods for sustainability, health, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mycology and working with fungal systems.
• Practical experience in food science, with a focus on texture analysis (preferred, but not required)
• Some experience in genomic and/or transcriptomic data analysis
• Some experience with confocal microscopy and advanced imaging techniques
• Strong data analysis, visualization, and presentation skills
