Job description

Looking for a role where you can safeguard and steer a growing portfolio of non-recourse financings after financial close? Join our Project and Asset Finance team in Copenhagen as a Portfolio Management Professional and help manage EE's financing obligations across Europe. European Energy is a growing company in the renewable energy sector. We are a privately owned Danish company founded in 2004, with our headquarters in Copenhagen. We develop, construct, finance, and operate solar (PV) and wind energy projects globally, as well as Power-to-X projects. In addition, we explore new technologies, including battery storage, biogas, and carbon capture. Our core values form the foundation of everything we do: In It Together, Trust and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your New Team

As a part of the CCO Area, the Project and Asset Finance team is responsible for sourcing all financing needed to construct EE's project pipeline, and for managing that financing through construction and operation. In this role, you will work directly with the Global Head of Project and Asset Finance, the transaction deal teams, Asset Management, and Treasury, as well as the more than 25 other members of the broader M&A and Project Finance department dedicated to commercialising EE's asset portfolio.

Your New Role

As our new Portfolio Management Professional, you will, in collaboration with colleagues within our Asset Management and Treasury departments, take ownership of EE's financing obligations once a transaction reaches financial close. You will track asset finance transactions through construction and operation, quality-assure disbursements, reporting, waivers, and amendments, and act as the link between the deal team, Asset Management, and Treasury. This is a role for someone who wants broad visibility across a growing portfolio of non-recourse financings and a direct hand in keeping it in good order.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assist with transaction closing and documentation ahead of financial close.
  • Ensure a timely, clear, and detailed handoff of post-closing responsibilities to other internal stakeholders.
  • Shadow and track all transactions throughout construction, providing support and quality assurance on disbursements, construction reporting, waivers, and amendments.
  • Support and quality-assure the work of Asset Management during material restructurings and amendments.
  • Quality-assure the payment of scheduled principal and interest to lenders.
  • Track all asset finance transactions booked across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with Treasury to provide timely and accurate information on portfolio exposures.
  • Manage all relationships with lender portfolio management counterparties.
  • Support in periodic and ah-hoc reporting of portfolio obligations and status.
  • Collaborate with M&A colleagues on common reporting obligations.
Prerequisites to progress in the job
  • You have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project finance, loan or portfolio administration, agency, or credit/portfolio monitoring roles, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure.
  • You have experience with post-closing management of non-recourse financings, including disbursements, covenant compliance, and reporting obligations.
  • You have exposure to restructurings, workouts, or amendments, and are comfortable in quality-assuring the work of others.
  • You have strong attention to detail and can work confidently across a large, growing portfolio of transactions.
  • You have solid financial modelling and analytical skills, and a robust understanding of financing documentation.
  • As a person, you are structured and detail-oriented and can be trusted to keep track of many transactions in parallel without losing sight of what matters.
  • You are a natural coordinator, comfortable working across the deal team, Asset Management, and Treasury, and you communicate clearly with both technical and financial audiences.
  • You have a genuine interest in the financial market and the renewable energy sector.
  • You may be asked to travel occasionally to meet with stakeholders across Europe.

With us you get Close collaboration with senior colleagues and meaningful deal ownership from day one A culture of knowledge sharing and international collaboration across 21+ countries Flexible work policy and a diverse, inclusive work environment Opportunities for career advancement in a growing company and sector Six weeks of paid annual leave, a subsidised lunch scheme, employee discounts on glasses, furniture, and massage, free access to a gym, a mobile phone for both professional and personal use, and access to professional development opportunities, including on-the-job learning, internal and external training, and networking.
