Job summary

DTU Civil and Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a PhD position focused on AI-augmented systems engineering. You will design and validate AI assistants that create machine-readable SysML 2.0 models, enabling rigorous requirements, traceability and verification for engineering teams.

You will collaborate with national and international partners, publish results, and contribute to teaching activities while developing the lab's infrastructure and research agenda.

Qualifications

• Two-year master's degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent required.
• Experience with systems engineering or practical AI-based solutions is desired.
• Strong collaboration with industry partners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI methods (models and harnesses) that reason over SysML 2.0 system models.
• Formalise engineering knowledge (requirements, architecture, verification) into machine-readable models.
• Evaluate methods on real engineering cases with industry partners.
• Work with lab's local AI compute and validated model stack.
• Publish in leading journals and conferences in engineering design and Systems Engineering.
• Assist in teaching and supervise MSc/PhD student projects.
• Contribute to building up the new Lab.
