Job summary

DTU is inviting applications for a PhD position focused on advancing AI-assisted Systems Engineering. The role centers on designing and validating an AI assistant that can reason over SysML 2.0 system models, turning requirements and traceability into fast, affordable processes for engineering teams.

Collaboration with industry partners is emphasized. The position is a 3-year full-time PhD with a strong emphasis on research, teaching, and building a new lab infrastructure at DTU.

Qualifications

  • Experience in systems engineering and/or developing practical AI-based solutions; passion for both.
  • Industry cooperation or relevant work experience is a strong plus.
  • Design and validate an AI assistant that creates and reasons over SysML 2.0 models.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI methods (models and harnesses) for SysML 2.0 MBSE.
  • Formalise engineering knowledge into machine-readable models.
  • Evaluate methods on real engineering cases with industry partners.
  • Work with lab's local AI compute and model stack.
  • Publish in journals and conferences in engineering design and SE.
  • Assist in teaching and supervise BSc/MSc student projects.
  • Contribute to building the new Lab.
