Job summary

DTU – Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a PhD position in fungal genomics, focusing on correlating genomes to phenotypes and developing online webservices. You will advance reference databases and identify toxin-gene clusters.

Qualifications

• Requires a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent.
• Experience with Python programming and Unix-based workflows.
• Knowledge of microbial genomics and bioinformatics algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Develop a web-based tool for fungal species identification and toxin-gene detection.
• Perform whole genome sequencing and analyses to build an updated reference genome database.
• Conduct genotype–phenotype association studies on Fusarium isolates and improve the online tool.
• Present findings at project meetings and scientific conferences; contribute to reports and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with the Genomic Epidemiology group (DTU Food) and Applied Mycology group (DTU Bioengineering).
