Job summary

Joe & The Juice is seeking a Payroll Specialist for the Mid-EU region. The role is embedded in our Financial Shared Services department and reports to the Global Payroll Manager at HQ in Copenhagen.

This full-time position offers growth opportunities across markets and a chance to shape payroll delivery in a dynamic, international setting. We value detail, confidentiality, and strong collaboration with HR, Finance, and external providers.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-jurisdiction payroll across two or more Mid Europe markets.
• Fluent English; working proficiency in Dutch, German and/or French is a strong asset.
• Accounting experience, including reconciliation, bookings/journal entries and month-end close support.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems; comfortable working with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly Payroll in the following markets: Belgium, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Monaco and Germany.
• Field employee questions regarding pay.
• Onboard new joiners into payroll systems.
• Keep HRIS/employee data up-to-date with local HR teams.
• Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and support month-end close.
• Coordinate between HR, Finance and external payroll providers to ensure accuracy.
• Ad-hoc HR / Payroll tasks as necessary.

JOB SUMMARY

The position as Payroll Specialist - Mid EU will be a part of our Financial Shared Services department, which also includes Accounting and Accounts Payables. The position will be embedded and report to the Global Payroll Manager in the HQ - Copenhagen, Denmark. This role provides potential for growth within the company and the role offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career within Joe & The Juice. The role is a full-time position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The overall responsibility will be processing monthly Payroll in the following markets: Belgium, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Monaco and Germany (Note: all mid-EU payrolls are outsourced; you will be coordinating with a provider - for now; exception made for France and the Netherlands where it is done in-house).
• Fielding employee questions regarding pay.
• Responsible to onboard new joiners into payroll systems.
• Responsible to keep HRIS/employee data up-to-date, in cooperation with local HR teams, in regard to leave and absence, personal data, etc.
• Reconciling payroll data against accounting records, preparing and reviewing payroll-related bookings and journal entries, and supporting month-end close.
• Acting as the point of coordination between local HR, Finance and external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
• Ad-hoc HR / Payroll tasks as necessary.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have high attention to detail and a strong sense of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data.
• You have strong communication skills and can liaise confidently with employees, HR, Finance and external payroll providers.
• You can manage competing deadlines across multiple markets and payroll cycles simultaneously.
• You have a proactive, problem-solving mindset and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Experience in multi-jurisdiction payroll, ideally covering 2 or more countries within the Mid Europe market (Belgium, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Monaco).
• Fluent English required. Working proficiency in Dutch, German and/or French is a strong asset.
• Accounting experience, including reconciliation, bookings/journal entries and month-end close support.
• Solid understanding of payroll principles and local labor/tax compliance across two or more Mid Europe markets.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems; comfortable working with large datasets.
