Job summary

University of Copenhagen invites applications for a Professor of Translational Molecular Neuropathology (part-time, fixed-term 5 years). The externally funded role combines with a senior researcher position at the Department of Neurology, Copenhagen University Hospital – Bispebjerg Frederiksberg.

The appointee must be eligible for both positions and will lead research initiatives, teach across levels, and guide the Centre for Neuroscience and Stereology while engaging with public discourse.

Qualifications

• Document a high degree of original academic production at an international level.
• Manage research and external academic activities and knowledge transfer.
• Provide research-based teaching.
• Good interpersonal and communicative skills.

Responsibilities

• Research in brain studies using molecular biology approaches for neurodegenerative diseases.
• Teaching at pre- and post-graduate levels in neuroscience/medicine.
• Lead the Centre for Neuroscience and Stereology; oversee the Bispebjerg Brain Bank.
• Share knowledge with society and participate in public debate.
• Conduct academic assessments.
