Job summary

The University of Copenhagen invites applications for a part-time professorship in Translational molecular neuropathology, coupled with a senior researcher role at Bispebjerg Frederiksberg Hospital. The appointment is fixed-term for 5 years and requires concurrent appointments at both institutions.

The successful candidate will lead research in neurodegeneration, contribute to teaching, supervise researchers, and engage in knowledge transfer while sharing knowledge with society, with salary

Qualifications

• Document a high degree of original academic production at an international level, including considerable contributions to the development of the academic discipline
• Manage research and other management functions, e.g. engage in the university’s external academic activities, as well as knowledge and technology transfer
• Provide research-based teaching
• Possess good interpersonal and communicative skills

Responsibilities

• Research, including publication/academic dissemination - The research area includes human brain studies by molecular biology approaches for assessing the neuropathological and underlying physiological factors behind neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson Disease and Atypical parkinsonism disorders as well as the establishment of new methodological approaches, preclinical models, and biomarker assays
• Research-based teaching, including associated examination – The teaching will include both pre- and post-graduate activities for neuroscience students, medical doctors and biomedicine students
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers – Also, the professor will assume responsibility and lead the Centre for Neuroscience and Stereology, conduct independent preclinical research, oversee and further develop the Bispebjerg Brain Bank by promoting research utilizing this unique resource
• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
