Job description

Can you create new solutions, solve complex challenges, and turn ideas into delivered results? Then this is a unique opportunity to be a part of securing the OT backbone behind our next-generation radar systems.
At Weibel, we develop world-leading radar systems for defense and civilian applications. Our products combine advanced electronics, software, mechanics, and system engineering to deliver exceptional performance in some of the world's most demanding environments. As our systems continue to become more connected and digitally integrated, Operational Technology (OT) plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, secure, and maintainable radar platforms throughout their lifecycle.

We are looking for an OT Engineer to join our R&D Hardware department. In this role, you will be part of the OT team responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining OT infrastructure, cybersecurity measures, and engineering tools that support the development, integration, production, and deployment of our radar systems.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system engineering while contributing to technologies that make a real difference.

From OT Infrastructure to Secure Product Realization

You will have close collaboration with electrical engineers, system engineers, software developers, IT Security specialists, project managers, and production teams. As an OT Engineer, you will help establish and maintain secure and efficient OT environments supporting both engineering activities and radar system deliveries.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Define and maintain OT architecture, standards, and best practices
  • Participate in the specification and implementation of OT solutions for radar systems and engineering environments
  • Support cybersecurity activities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Implement and maintain security hardening measures and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Perform risk assessments and contribute to threat and vulnerability analyses
  • Support compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory cybersecurity requirements
  • Manage and maintain OT-related infrastructure, networks, servers, and security solutions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure robust and sustainable solutions
  • Participate in audits, verification activities, and security reviews when relevant
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of OT processes, tools, and governance
  • Support development teams with OT-related requirements and best practices

You will play an important role in establishing a strong OT foundation across our radar platforms while ensuring alignment between engineering, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.

Technical Understanding Combined with Strong Collaboration Skills

We are looking for a colleague who combines technical insight with a structured and collaborative approach. You are motivated by solving complex technical challenges and enjoy working across disciplines.

We imagine that you have:

  • An engineering degree in Electronics, Software, Cyber Security, Network Engineering, IT, or a similar technical field
  • Experience working with Operational Technology, infrastructure, system administration, or cybersecurity
  • Experience from a complex engineering or R&D environment
  • A systematic and quality-focused approach to technical work
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Experience with one or more of the following areas will be considered an advantage:

  • OT and cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001, or similar
  • Windows Server and Linux administration
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management
  • Network infrastructure and switch configuration
  • Firewalls, endpoint protection, monitoring, and logging solutions
  • Virtualization technologies
  • Configuration management and system hardening
  • Risk assessment and security documentation
  • Industrial communication protocols and network architecture
  • Security accreditation and compliance activities
  • Engineering tools and environments used in product development

Your background may be in OT, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, or systems engineering. What matters is a strong technical foundation, a hands-on approach, and the drive to turn challenges into solutions.
